Crashworthiness

Crashworthiness of a vehicle refers to the vehicle's ability to withstand a substantial collision with another vehicle or a fixed object while maintaining enough structural integrity to provide safety to the vehicle's occupants.  It also pertains to the design and performance of the occupant protection systems, including vehicle interior geometry & materials, seating systems, seat belts and air bags.
